A. If your 1 year 3 month old baby is having loose motions, the main focus should be on hydration. Offer plenty of fluids like water, breast milk, rice kanji, ORS (oral rehydration solution), and coconut water to prevent dehydration. Feed light, easily digestible foods such as curd, mashed banana, boiled potato, apple, and moong dal khichdi. Avoid dairy (except curd), juices, and oily or sugary foods. Maintain good hygiene and keep the baby clean. If loose motions last more than 2–3 days, or if you notice signs of dehydration (dry mouth, no tears, sunken eyes), or fever, consult a pediatrician promptly.
