#asktheexpert why do doctors NOT recommend using gripe water these days for babies ? In Olsen days gripe water was mandatorily given to us after every meal and bath

ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician4 years agoA. hi, because most of the gripe water has sugar n alcohol which is not good fir babies. just give only breast milk. Only breast milk is sufficient for your baby till first 6 month. Burp properly after each feed. avoid any self medication.

See As a lot of things into it which are not safe for a child which is why doctors do not advise you to go ahead with gripe water I have use it without consulting my doctor and my child immediately suffered with a diarrhoea and other issues which is why the doctor said the gripe water should never be used because it has different kind of things into it which is not good for child which is why it’s not recommended rest is completely parents choice doctors can only tell you what is right and what is wrong
