#asktheexpert Which medicine should be given to my child for having severe cough and cold but having no fever.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. For cold / running nose give syp allegra 5 ml twice daily to the child. (Helps in decreasing running nose and cold)
Prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops every three hourly for nasal congestion and block.
Indirect steam help in decreasing coughing.
paracetamol for fever and pain
Go for home remedies like Tulsi Ginger honey diluted with water combination and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day.
Give water at frequent intervals
For wet coughing xyou can give syrup ascoril LS 5ml twice daily to the child
This can occur due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes around child.

Maxtra and Sinarist both are good to be given to the child but I think it would be good if you consult your doctor they can help you with proper medication as well as if anything else is also meant to be done the doctor is going to give you guidance on that basis only
