#asktheexpert when to give water to new born baby . my baby is 2 month old

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist4 years agoA. Water to your baby should be given once your baby completes 6 months. Until then breast milk should be the only feed for your baby. Breast milk contains about 90 percent water and fulfils the hydration needs of baby.

When your-6 month old baby is learning to use a cup, giving him a few sips of water a couple of times a day (no more than 2 ounces per 24 hours) is fine and fun. Once baby starts solids, you might want to give him a few sips of expressed milk or water with his solids – some babies need this to prevent constipation.
