A. hi dear Pediatricians recommend avoiding sugar for babies under 12 months of age (2). Jaggery can be considered an alternative but should be fed in moderation. Although jaggery isn't too sweet, its overuse might cause babies to develop a preference for sweet foods and drinks over time (10).
