#asktheexpert what should be the duration between the meals given to the kid.

A. My baby going to complete 6 months on 21st june from 8th june i have started giving him solid like dal ka pani, rice water, apple avocado potato in puree form, at the time of birth his weight was 3 kg and today he is 6kg, i am trying hard about his timings, brestmilk and now solid food as well but still his weight is not gaining. everyone in my family including my husband blaming me that i am not taking proper care of my baby because of me his weight is not increasing. please help and suggest me what to do i am feeling very low

A. There should be a minimum gap of 3-4 hours between different meals given to kids. Breakfast should be heavy, lunch should should be less heavy than breakfast and dinner should be very light. Include all seasonal fruits and vegetables in your child's diet. Give whole cow's milk and milk products such as butter, cheese, curd, ghee in small amounts and paneer. This helps in their rapid growth and development. Give one boiled egg per day and you can even include scrambled eggs in his or her diet.
