A. Now start complementary food. Start by offering small amounts of solids once a day.. preffer day time to feed. Follow three day rule. Breastfeeding or formula feeding should continue alongside the solid foods, as they still form an essential part of the infant diet till 1 year. Give vegetables (eg pumpkin, potato, sweet potato, carrot puree) fruits (eg cooked pears/apple, ripe banana) . Moong Daal water, rice kangi. Ragi porridge, rice porridge.

A. It is recommended to introduce semi solid foods in baby's diet between the age of 5-6 months as by then their immunity and digestive system develop a bit. You can feed foods like lentil puree, mashed banana, apple, carrot and pear puree, mixed vegetable soup, khichdi, ragi and sooji porridge, home made cerelac, etc. Start slow with 4-6 spoons per serving and twice a day. Introduce one food at a time and feed for atleast 3 days at stretch to see how well baby is able to digest.
