#AskTheExpert Subham has morning cough in last 10days.Taking cough syrup and cold syrup.After taking cough syrup coughing stops for 4-6 hours.Then starts minor cough and again morning cough.What to do?

u should give to him ginger juice mix with honey and add some pinch of salt.2 times in a day.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by tijhe doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
