#AskTheExpert sir my daughter is 3 years old and she was preterm for one month presently her body weight is 12 is that normal what food should I give to my daughter?

A. Hello Give protein rich foods like milk, egg, paneer, fish, pulses, soya chunks, curd for good growth Add lot of Vegetables, fruits & nuts like Almond cashews walnuts to child's recipes too

A. Girl children can be around 14.2 kg at the age of 3. Considering the child is premature 12 kg seems to be a good weight as her birth weight can be low. You can add full cream cows milk, eggs, meat if non vegetarian, potatoes and all diary products like butter, curd, ghee, cheese, paneer etc. Add dry fruits and nuts like almonds, pistachios, cashew, walnut, fig, dates in the child's regular diet. They will help to increase weight.
