#asktheexpert Sir My child is not doing toilet since last 6 days.What should we do?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. It is very common that children less than 6 months of age may not pass stool for sometime 10 days also.
Slight discomfort as well as straining while passing urine and stool is also normal.
You have to just take care of colic pain as well as gas in the abdomen and do not worry about the frequency of the stool if the consistency of the stool is seemi solid to solid.
please note that intermittent crying that you see might be due to coliic pain and not due to constipation.

Constipation is completely normal in this age a child can go without pooping for 7 to 10 days also at a stress but if the child is taking all the feeds properly and the urine output for the child is good then absolutely absolutely nothing for you to be worried
