#asktheexpert should I give her little bit of salt and sugar if no than what are the alternatives? What diet I should follow for her she is 6 months old

A. A baby’s salt requirement per day is less than 1 g per day like only 0.4g of sodium and this is mostly met by the breastmilk or formula. So any extra salt will be a burden on the tiny kidneys and the kidney’s will not be able to function properly due to the excessive load. This may lead to kidney disease but my doctors advice was to introduce very little salt and very little sugar I have also followed the same
