POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. If your 3-year-10-month-old daughter had a cold and is now coughing excessively, it's possible that the infection has irritated her airways, leading to prolonged coughing. This can be due to:
Post-viral cough, which may last for 2–3 weeks after a cold. Allergic response to dust, pollen, or weather change. Throat irritation from mucus dripping down the throat (post-nasal drip). Asthmatic cough or bronchitis, especially if there’s wheezing or nighttime coughing.
What you can do:
Use a humidifier in her room. Offer warm fluids like soup or warm water with honey (only if over 1 year). Keep her hydrated and avoid cold foods. Avoid exposure to dust, smoke, or strong perfumes.
If the cough lasts more than 2 weeks, worsens, or is accompanied by fever, difficulty breathing, or wheezing, consult your pediatrician
