Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is a viral disease usually occurs with symptoms like sneezing, running nose, cough ,sore throat, nasal congestion and fever.at times it can be allergic too.it is less likely to be related to food but seasonal changes may have an impact.
Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and decongestants .
steam inhalation would help in relieving congestion n soothing the irritation in nose and throat .
Medicines like maxtra/wikoryl /ascoril flu cold can be given in a proper dose according to the weight for 3-5 days as per the symptoms but it will be better to take only under medical guidance. as it is a viral disease it may take sometimes more than ononee week also to cure despite taking medication please have patience and if there is no relief you can request your pediatrician to change the medicine s.so please get examination and treatment done by your pediatrician it will be better.no self treatment should be done.

Hi Siri I will not advise any medicine because that would not be right on my part you should consult your treating doctor also a child is just under the age of six months you should not give any medicine without asking your doctor that would be the right thing to consult your paediatrician for that
