POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. Prickly heat (heat rash) lasting for a month on your 8-month-old’s face can be uncomfortable but is usually manageable with good care. Here’s what you can do to help clear it up:
Keep your baby’s skin cool and dry; avoid overdressing or heavy blankets. Dress him in light, loose, breathable cotton clothes. Give short, lukewarm baths and gently pat the skin dry. Avoid using oily or heavy creams that can block pores. Apply a mild, fragrance-free moisturizer or calamine lotion to soothe itching. Keep the environment cool with a fan or air conditioning, but avoid direct cold air on the baby. Make sure to keep the face clean, gently wiping sweat or drool.
If the rash doesn’t improve, looks infected (red, swollen, oozing), or your baby seems very uncomfortable, it’s best to visit a pediatrician. They may prescribe a mild medicated cream or other treatment.
