#asktheexpert None of my daughter teeth have erupted. they are visible and can be felt beneath the gums. What should be done?

A. If your daughter’s teeth are visible under the gums and can be felt but haven’t erupted yet, it’s usually not a cause for concern—especially if she is under 18 months. Some babies have delayed teething, and it can still be within the normal range. Since the teeth are already palpable, they may erupt soon. You can support her teething process by: Gently massaging her gums with a clean finger Offering a cold teething ring Giving soft foods and ensuring she gets enough calcium and vitamin D If she is 18 months or older and still has no erupted teeth, or if you notice swelling, pain, or signs of infection, it's a good idea to consult a pediatric dentist to rule out any underlying issues.
