Q.

#AskTheExpert my son who is 5 months old and exclusively breastfed has been prescribed iron drops...which is causing him severe constipation..he has to really strain to poop...i had to give him glycerin suppositery yesterday to make him poop...should i discontinue iron or is there a way around this problem..

A. Hi mom Do tummy time and cycling movement of legs to relieve gas and constipation Give adequate feeding No stool till seven to eight days is considered as normal Take a good care of your baby Burp well after every feeding Take more water fruits vegetables protein rich diet to increase your milk supply Maintain hygiene
