#AskTheExpert my son is 2.7 yr he speaks very few words like alphabet numbers but doesn't communicate with us does it matter of concern?

A. Hai good afternoon !! Yes alphabets ,repeating rhymes or screen advertisements is not speech. The way he is communicating,responding to commands,starting conversation or responding /amswering to our commands is speech. Avoid screen time, engage more in activities,out door play . Consult developmental paediatrician assessment , if you obeserve delay in speech other gross ,fine motor skills If only delay in speech then consult speech therapist for speech therapies...
