A. Having only 8 teeth at 1 year and 8 months old can be on the lower end of the typical range for teething development. Most children at this age usually have between 8 to 12 teeth, and some may have all 16 of their primary teeth by their second birthday. However, it's important to remember that every child develops at their own pace, and genetics can play a significant role in teething patterns. If your son is otherwise healthy, eating well, and meeting his developmental milestones, it may not be a cause for concern. However, if you have any worries about his dental health or if you notice any unusual symptoms, it's a good idea to consult your pediatrician or a pediatric dentist for personalized advice and reassurance.
