Q.

#AskTheExpert My daughter is just turning 4 months old. Her stools change colour and thickness sometimes. I am only feeding her Enfamil formula and breast milk. Sometimes I also give her banana powder mixed in boiled water. what kind of stools should be normal and how would I know whether she has diarrhea?

A. Breastfed baby poop is considered normal when it's a mustard yellow, green or brown color. It is typically seedy and pasty in texture and may be runny enough to resemble diarrhea. Healthy breastfed stools will smell sweet (unlike regular bowel-movement odor).
