#AskTheExpert my daughter is 3 yrs old, she had got fever yesterday afternoon with 102 temperature and today she had fever for 100 and after medicine it has come down. But today morning she has these around her mouth. Not sure what is this.please advise. She has been given chicken pox and flu shot last Monday.

ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician3 years agoA. If there are rashes accompanied with fever it can be viral for which you need to go to your nearby doctor for examination of the baby and then only the necessary medications can be prescribed..
apply calamine lotion meanwhile.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyretic likvte paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually ggiven to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful .
Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
