Q.

#asktheexpert My daughter is 2 years old. She has got few teeth but every time she wants something in her mouth to chew like clothes, toys, her fingers. How can I stop this n until when she will have all her teeth.

A. it is due to teething. there is itching, pain, drooling of saliva, swelling in the gums, oral finger insertion, irritability and crying during the teething process. with the help of your fingers you can press the gums of the child to decrease the pain as well as you can give a pacifier but it should be clean. you can give a cold cotton cloth to bite and press between the gums the child is crying due to pain then you can give paracetamol which will also help in decreasing the pain long-term medicine are usually not advisable this phenomena and problem should decrease with increasing age of the child

A. You Said that the child has got a few teeth not all of them so maybe others are also coming which is why your child is behaving like this because all the things that you are suggesting into your child’s behaviour as of now is a very common sign that the child is having its teeth
