#askTheExpert my daughter is 1yrs 8months old, she is having fever from last four days ,I was giving her ibugegis plus initially but after every 5 hrs the temp again rises,but now I am giving her calpol120 syrup and zifi 50 from yesterday but today morning again her temp was 100.4,,what should I give her? how many days does viral fever last ,no other symptoms of cough and cold..

Baby is having cold cough and fever then it can be due to viral infection you need to give him steam inhalation indirectly to times in the day and also keep him well hydrated . Viral fever can take three to five days time to subside completely.consult with your doctor near by who will examine the baby and guide you with appropriate medications in their proper dose

Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative mhhedicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations.
cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
