Q.

#asktheexpert My child suffers from frequent cold and severe cough. My doubt is that is my child asthamatic. We are giving hime nebulisation. But I don’t want to give him so much medicines. Please suggest me

A. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold . here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever . it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely. dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy with mdi / nebulizer. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cxold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet food also. body cannot sustain sfuch allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.

A. hello nebulization should be given only if it is advised by a doctor for prescribe number of days and also try to put saline drops and use instant rub from babyhug which can help and any concern then it would be better to check with your doctor which is better
