#AskTheExpert My boy baby just 45 days old and got cold. My mom uses some village methods to cure. like Indian Borage leaf juice of 4 or 5 drops morning and evening. seems he is getting better now. is that fine? kindly advise

ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician3 years agoA. better to Consult your doctor who will examine the baby and will advise you with further management and investigations if any required because without examination it is difficult to comment on the current situationBaby is having cold cough and fever then it can be due to viral infection you need to give him steam inhalation indirectly to times in the day and also keep him well hydrated .consult with your doctor near by who will examine the baby and guide you with appropriate medications in their proper dose.
Viral fever can last from 3-5 days so you need to to give the prescribed medications for this duration at least and if it is persistent beyond you need to go for the investigation as per the advice of the doctor

Mostly to doctors recommend not to give anything to your baby tell your baby turned six months old. If your baby is having cold and cough then you can give indirect steam with warm water twice a day and can also use nasal clear jobs to clean your baby’s nose.
