A. It's quite common for babies to feel more secure and comfortable while being held, especially when they’re still adjusting to sleeping independently. The transition from your lap to the bed can be a little unsettling for her because she associates the warmth and security of your arms with comfort. Here are a few tips to help her adjust: Swaddle or Sleep Sack: Swaddling or using a sleep sack can help your baby feel more secure and comfortable, mimicking the snug feeling of being held. Make sure it's done safely, with her arms free for movement. Gradual Transition: Instead of immediately laying her down on the bed, try sitting with her on the bed while holding her, then slowly let her get used to lying down while you're still nearby. This gradual approach can help her feel more at ease. Establish a Soothing Bedtime Routine: A consistent routine can signal to your baby that it's time for sleep. This could include a warm bath, gentle rocking, or soft lullabies before placing her on the bed. Gentle Patting: Once she’s in bed, try gently patting or rubbing her back to soothe her back to sleep. You can also try holding her hands or legs as you’ve been doing to offer comfort. Consider a Familiar Object: Sometimes a soft toy or blanket that smells like you can help your baby feel more secure when transitioning to the bed. This phase is usually temporary, and with patience, she’ll get more comfortable with her own space.
