#asktheexpert My baby is taking thyronorm tablet. Now his thyroid level is getting back to normal. How long does he need to take the tablet?

A. doctor will go for revaluation of the parameters for thyroid and if they are normal then will taper the dose More proper information and answer regarding this will be given by your personal doctor and you can contact your doctor for this You can check with the nearest doctor. Take care.

A. I think you are wrong. My doctor told me that he can reduce the dosage levels and can stop after that.

A. Once a person has hypothyroidism, the disease remains for lifetime, hence treatment also has to be for life. One should not stop suddenly on ones own wish. That will result in unexpected high TSH levels. So do not decide on your own, and stop or restart.
