A. It depends on how your one-year-old’s toenail looks. If the toenail is discolored, thick, brittle, peeling, or has white/yellow spots, it could be due to fungal infection, injury, or nutritional deficiency. However, if it’s just slightly curved or uneven, it may be normal as baby nails develop. When to See a Doctor? Redness, swelling, or pus (possible infection) Toenail separating from the skin Pain or difficulty walking Repeated breaking or abnormal thickening What You Can Do at Home: Trim nails straight across to prevent ingrown nails. Keep feet clean and dry. If there’s infection, a pediatrician may recommend antifungal cream or antibiotics. If you can describe the issue more or share symptoms, I can give better guidance!
