Give him a bowl and a spoon. Let him play with his meal. Let him make a mess. This is how he will learn to eat on his own after touching, playing and finally tasting the food. Let him be a part of meal preparations. Let him choose the vegetables for meal or he can help you in setting the table. Avoid all distractions during meals like TV, tablet, cell phones, laptop etc. Let family meals be a pleasant experience for him where he learns to eat after seeing his parents or siblings. Give new foods along with his favourites. Restrict milk and milk products' consumption to less than 500 ml per day. Praise him even if he eats a few bites. Avoid giving bribery like toys or chocolates if he finishes his meals on time. Offer only small portions of food.
