A. It's understandable to be concerned when your baby shows sudden changes. Around 5 months, many babies go through developmental leaps or growth spurts, which can temporarily affect their mood, sleep, and feeding. Here are some common possible reasons for your baby’s behavior: Growth Spurt or Developmental Leap: These often cause crankiness, poor sleep, and increased need for comfort. Teething: Some babies start teething around this age. This can cause discomfort, irritability, drooling, and poor sleep. Reflux or Overfeeding: Frequent puking after feeding could be due to reflux or taking in more milk than needed. Try feeding smaller amounts more often and keep the baby upright for 20–30 minutes after feeding. Tummy Discomfort or Gas: Babies can get uncomfortable due to trapped gas. Gentle tummy massages, leg cycling, or burping well after feeds can help. Infection or Illness: If there is fever, diarrhea, reduced urination, or persistent vomiting, it could be a sign of an infection, and you should consult a pediatrician. If this behavior continues beyond a few days or worsens, it's best to have your baby evaluated by a doctor to rule out any underlying medical issues. Trust your instincts—if something feels off, seeking medical advice is the right step.
