#asktheexpert My baby is a preterm baby...now she is 4months old...are milestones different from normal babies?

A. in your case a medical examination is required for proper diagnosis and treatment. difficult to tell without examination whether it is normal or not. advisable to remain in contact witfh your doctor for proper guidance and treatment it is important to meet the doctor to get the child examined. milestones assessment of the child needs to be done which will tell whether the child is having any development delay or not. the child will be assessed for four major milestones that is 1.gross motor milestone 2.fine motor milestone 3.social milestone 4.language milestone.

A. It would first of all depend how much pre-term your child is secondly with a regular pre-term child a difference could be seen for a month or so in reaching the milestone which is also not consistent with all the kids but in general you can expect a delay for a month for Prima
