#AskTheExpert my baby is 3 months old with a weight of 4.5kg. she was born preterm in 35weeks 5days. is she underweight? what can I do to increase her weight?

A. weight is normal. child should double it's birth weight by completion of Six month and triples by one year. give only breastmilk till completion of Six month and feed more frequently

A. If your baby's doctor thinks it's necessary, you may have to supplement your baby with additional feedings of either pumped breast milk or infant formula. You can also try to pump and separate your foremilk from your hindmilk. Hindmilk is higher in fat and calories, which can help your baby gain more weight.
