Q.

#asktheexpert My baby is 2.5 months old. She has this haemangioma(strawberry nevus) birthmark on her right biceps which is getting bigger day by day. I can also see swelling on that. Is that something to be worried of?

A. The time period when they are growing is called proliferation. About 80 percent of hemangiomas stop growing by about 5 months, Dr. says. After hitting this plateau phase, they stay unchanged for several months, and then begin to slowly disappear over time (called involution).
