#AskTheExpert my baby is 15 days old and has lot of rashes since day 2 all over body. when we apply calamine lotion ( prescribed by doctor) they appear to reduce for r few hours and again appear. is this normal or some allergic reaction. should I stop using soap for bathing

A. yes you should stop using soap for a day or 2. also use a soft muslin cloth to wipe the baby. don't use any oil also. use a mild detergent to wash baby's clothes. usually nothing to worry as this could be baby acne. if still doesn't reduce after a couple of days please consult your pediatrician once again. you can even try using cetaphil lotion. whatever suits the baby you can use. sometimes calamine lotion makes the skin dry.
