Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby has jaundice since he was born that time it was very less hence phototherapy was not given but by 8th day it increased and hence was admitted than got discharged after reduced level we show sunlight everyday and he is totally in breast feed but still i can see some yellowness in his body . My doctor said it will go gradually as sometimes breast feeding takes time. Dr can u plz give any suggestions?

A. Hello, your baby boy is 2.5 months old and he is having a extended neonatal jaundice so now it’s something else so get his hepatic physiological study to see if he has a hepatic atresia Or congenital syndrome like Duben jonhson syndrome

A. yes mom yes ur doctor is right it will go gradually moreover you should keep on taking your baby in the sunlight early in the morning and you should always keep check on the colour of the eyes as well and keep baby hydrated by breastfeeding
