#asktheexpert my baby girl is 8months old ..she has lately started fearing new surroundings and the people around.. the people she meets are the usual everyday people specially men when they call out to her she starts crying until they leave her sight.. certain times even night she has started crying the same way during her sleep, while she cries she is still unaware of us around her and her eyes would be closed.. what would be the reason for the same ?

A. stranger anxiety usually develops after 6 months of age when the child is able to recognise the parents as well as the near once. it is a normal part of development in which the child is able to identify the people who are nearby afs well as wants to protect oneself from the people the child doesn't know. the stranger anxiety usually decreases with increasing age of the child and you have to stay with the child to just make the chilfd comfortable with strangers

A. Okay so stranger anxiety is absolutely normal and common with kids also apart from that I would suggest you or rather inform you that kids usually cry in the middle of the night with their clothes when they’re having a nightmare so that time you should actually hold your child close to you and comfort your child
