#AskTheExpert My babe is 5 months old and she is having diarrhea for the past 5 days..there is mucus in her poop..what should I do?

A. Loose motion are mohst of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management ftor dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

A. hi dear The most important thing you can do to treat diarrhea in infants is to continue to feed your baby. Breastfeed or offer the bottle more frequently while your child has loose stools to provide extra fluids. You should not stop feedings to try to rest your child's stomach.
