#AskTheExpert my 9month baby develops constipation a lot ... will gripe water helps? we feed him dairy milk with water mixed and light semi solid food( cerelac, khichdi etc)

VINI KMom of 2 children3 years agoA. my baby is 3 year now n his weight is 12 kg .he eats all kind of fruits ,vegitables , paneer fish but less roti or rice ..i gave him socked dry fruits in mrng n also home made dry fruit powder but his weight is a concern fr me always , he is super avtive n achiving all his milestone before time ..buf his weight is a pain point ..

Constipation in Babies less than 1 year is very common and more in formula fed babies and also when initially the semi solid foogd has been started after 6 months . you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggestred by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age . Medications are required but it should be given only in medical supervision .
