#asktheexpert my 40 days old underweight kid is pooping 8-20 times a day since his birth. i have visited 4-5 pediatricians and asked about it. every one is telling he is normal. but he have not gained any weight in 40 days. i am clueless what to do?

A. Hello dear parent! It is a normal finding in small infants to lose a little of birth weight or not gain much of weight in the initial days. As long as your baby is active and healthy, accepting feeds, passing adequate urine 6 to 8 times in a day, no blood or foul smell in the stools then nothing to worry. Continue to exclusively breastfeed your baby well on demand for better health, nutrition and hydration. Good luck and take care.
