#AskTheExpert my 3 month old son has umbilical hernia. what should we do. his naval is swelled up

A. the child is having umbilical hernia which is very common in childreen and goes away by maximum 2 years of age. with growing age it regresses and goes inside it does not require any intervention or treatment before 2 years if it is non complicated. meet your doctor once who will tell you whether any intervention or wait and watch policy is required

A. good morning it usually reduces and goes away on its own I would request you to consult with your pediatrician that what medication can be given in the meantime to ensure that the child is at least comfortable
