Q.
#asktheexpert My 2.5 month son is trying very hard to pass stool. But he is crying a lot during this. Is this normal or Is he feeling pain while passing the stool ?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. normally hardness of the stool is not seen when you are giving only breastfeeding to the child.
it is advisable to continue only breastfeeding and nothing else till completion of 6 months of age.
if still the hard stool continues you have to visit the doctor to find the cause.
but if you are giving formula milk thzen there is a possibility that the milk is not properly digested by the child and you will have to change the brand of formula milk.
also do xnot give any food to the child except milk at this age.
