Q.

#AskTheExpert my 17 months son doesn't eat veggies and dal at all since last two months. only eats plain chapati and rice. he has sweet tooth. how can I get him to eat dal and veggies again.

A. It’s ditto with me. I started with stir fry veggies. So if I understand he would be lot like my daughter. So here’s how I had success with making her eats veggies . I started with bhindi. I would simple fry it with just salt. Since she likes bland , I feel she doesn’t like turmeric . So I started making her eat only one ring of bhindi. I used to eat along with her too. I introduced bhindi 2-3 times in a week. Again next week and again next to next week. Post 2 -3 week trial, she now knows that’s food, that’s tasty and people loves to have bhindi. Likewise I tried with other veggies.. so her fav veggies are - tomato , broccoli, cauliflower , bhindi, sweet potato ghee fry. Unfortunately she still doesn’t like with dal yet. She eats just plain rice with ghee and plain chapati with honey . She is sweet tooth too. But didn’t bribe her with if and then …

A. Just Give a piece of desert to your child every time when you give a meal just tell your child if you eat this food properly you will get a piece of desert after that whatever your child likes to eat this we just try to lure your child and do not give any desert to the child at the time your child does not finish the food properly
