POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 years agoA. Start by taking charge of his diet. Your child seems to be a healthy toddler (I’d be more concerned if he’d always refused savory food) and he needs you to take control of his eating habits. If you want to give him sugary sweets.. only do it at specific times (like Saturday evenings) and only specific amounts and otherwise give him normal food (just inform him that mom/dad has decided that sweets are only for Saturday or similar and just tell him that if he asks (if he asks at store you could do the ‘we can buy sweets now but you’ll have to wait until saturday to eat it’ and ‘we already bought it’.).. Fruits as treats should be fine.. as long as its AFTER the meal (or so it won’t affect his hunger)… Yes it may be distressing for you at first at first, but within a few days he should adjust and start eating normally. (just don’t give up.. much less give in).
On the off chance it should take more than a few days (as long as you don’t give in and prolong the process) you could involve his doctor.. but overall .. i rather doubt it’ll take that long.
