Q.

#AskTheExpert M newborn baby who is 9 days old has a bilirubin level of 17.15. Do we need to hospitalised for phototherapy ?

A. The normal range should less than 12. The number that you have shares lies on the higher side. Better to admit in the hospital. Besides that give only exclusive breastfeeding. Keep the light above the baby head. Put the baby in the sunlight between 7 to 8 am IST.

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and yea the level is on higher side and as per my knowledge we should go for photo therapy when it cross the 15z still follow your doctor instructions. Take care

A. hi better to visit your pediatrician. give plenty of breastfeeds give sunlight atleast 20 minutes a day which is best to cure this maintain good hygiene using Babyhug multipurpose cleaner
