A. now you are 38 weeks pregnant so it would be better you can just wait for one week more and consult with your doctor for induction of normal labour if all your condition is normal and not to wait till last date as 39 week is considered as the safest period for delivery

A. The Last Menstrual Period (LMP) and Estimated Due Date (EDD) are both used to estimate the delivery date of a pregnancy, but they rely on different methods and assumptions, which can lead to differences in the estimated date. 1. **Last Menstrual Period (LMP):** This method calculates the estimated delivery date based on the first day of the woman's last menstrual period. It assumes that ovulation occurs around day 14 of a woman's menstrual cycle (with a 28-day cycle), and fertilization occurs shortly after ovulation. Therefore, the estimated conception date is typically about two weeks after the LMP. However, this method may not be accurate for women with irregular menstrual cycles or who are unsure of their LMP date. 2. **Estimated Due Date (EDD):** This method calculates the estimated delivery date based on ultrasound measurements taken during early pregnancy, usually between 8 and 12 weeks gestation. The ultrasound measurements, such as the size of the fetus and the length of the gestational sac, are used to estimate the age of the fetus more accurately than relying solely on the LMP. The EDD is typically calculated by adding 280 days (or 40 weeks) to the first day of the woman's last menstrual period. The main difference between estimating delivery date based on LMP and EDD is that the EDD takes into account the actual age and size of the fetus as determined by ultrasound, while the LMP method relies on assumptions about the timing of ovulation and fertilization. Therefore, the EDD calculated from ultrasound measurements may be more accurate, especially for women with irregular menstrual cycles or uncertain LMP dates. However, both methods are used in clinical practice to provide an estimated timeframe for the delivery of the baby.
