Q.

#asktheexpert lately my daughter has started to wake up at night with no reason....she would just start moving around and then open her eyes... she would play and roam around the house for almost 1.5 hrs and then come back to bed and would sleep after another half n hr... because of this her sleep hours has reduced to a total of 10 - 10.5 hrs instead of 12 hrs... she is 22 months old... is this concerning matter?

A. no this is common sleeping pattern in small children changes from time to time but will improve with increasing age of the child you have to just see for any environmental factor which is affecting the sleep like temperature variations as well as the child might be having some digestion problem or breathing difficulty due to nasal blockage has to be looked into. if the growth of the child is proper do noct worry much about the sleeping pattern of the child as it always improve witch time you can increase the physical activity during the daytime as well as avoid more sleeping time during the day time and this will help in improving the night time sleeping time
