Q.

#AskTheExpert is water intake dependent on weight of the baby? my baby's paed recommended 750 ml water per day since baby weight is 7.5 kgs

A. 750 ml will be too much. Even when you start giving them purees or weaning food at around 6 months of age, breast milk and formula are still more important than water. But you can begin to introduce it in very less amount.

A. my question is not on weight gain. i m asking whether the water consumption of baby is dependent on weight

A. hi dear While all babies may grow at a different rate, the following is the average for boys and girls 7 to 9 months of age: Weight: average gain of 1 pound each month; boys usually weigh about ½ pound more than girls; 2 times the birth weight by 4 to 5 months and 3 times the birth weight by 1 year.
