#AskTheExpert I'm a mother of one month old baby. I'm planning to take covishield vaccine first dose. can I breastfeed my baby right after taking the vaccine or if I have fever?

A. Recent guidelines says lactating mothers can also take covid vaccine . Both the vaccines given by the government are completely safe for breastfeeding lactating and pregnant women. and it's safe to breast feed your baby immediately after taking vaccine if you experience any symptoms like fever, body pains, headaches, joint pains then take paracetamol .

A. good morning I would recommend that if you are having fever post vaccination just wait for one or two days and after that you can start feeding your baby again in the meantime you can give formula milk
