Q.

#AskTheExpert I'm 29 week pregnant. I have been detected with short cervix since my 6 th mont and has been on complete bed rest since then as advised my doctor. As it's said one need to be active during pregnancy...but as due to my condition I'm not able to exercise or even walk...would it affect my baby...I'm really worried about it.

A. Bed rest. Sometimes, a doctor may recommend bed rest (or pelvic rest) and continued monitoring for a short cervix. This can mean anything from no sex or strenuous activity to full-on, only-get-up-to-pee-and-eat bed rest. However, it's important to note that strict bed rest has not been proven to prevent preterm labor.
