#AskTheExpert I have few ask 1:My daughter is 4 month old, can I start feeding her solid foods? 2: Every month my daughter is gaining only500 gms. She is only 5kg now when her birth weight was 2.3 kg. Is there anything to concern about ?

A. Hello mom babies almost monthly gain between 300 gm to 1kg and by the age of 4 to 6 months they almost double their birth weight and then almost triple by one year . Weaning foods would be ideal to be introduced from the age of 5 months

A. hi mom, your baby weight is ideal weight only. usually baby doubles their birth weight by 5-6 months. U can start solids once baby has completed 5 months if your ped approves
