#AskTheExpert I have caught a bad cold. I have 10 day old daughter. How do i ensure that i dont pass it on while breast feeding?

A. Hello good morning !! Breast feeding and physical contact pass on cold to baby Instead using medication (as you are Breast feeding) do steaming twice a day. If possible you can express out milk and feed through bottle. Avoid head bath and foods that cause cold(banana, orange,kiwi,curd). Mix one pinch ajwain powder with turmeric powder each and rub on upper scalp to reduce cold.

A. just try to cover your face whenever you are giving breastfeeding and also wash your hands properly and by this you will not transfer the viral infection to the child
